Your progress stays in your browser

Flashcard schedules, test scores and settings are saved in your browser's localStorage on your device. We have no account system and no database of users. Clearing your browser data deletes your progress, so export a backup from Settings if you want to keep it.

Voice recordings are never uploaded

Speaking practice uses your microphone only while you record. The recording is kept in the memory of your browser tab so you can play it back, and it is discarded when you leave the page unless you download it. No audio is sent anywhere.

Audio playback

Chinese audio is produced by your device's own speech engine. Some browsers (for example Chrome with its online voices) may use the browser maker's speech service to do this, under that company's privacy terms.

License key

If you activate Pro, your browser sends the key to our payment provider, Gumroad, to check it. The key is remembered in your browser's localStorage and rechecked every few days.

Hosting logs

Our host (Cloudflare Pages) keeps standard request logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and operations. We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which processes your payment under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details from Gumroad to support your license.
